Here are three recent technical illustrations completed for Discovery Channel that were used on a DVD package for their “How Stuff Works” series. “Aluminum”, “Rubber” and “Lead” images were a lot of fun to create as they allowed me to use my new favorite tool, modo, for the 3D work. Having a rough layout of the package design beforehand enabled me to coordinate the angles, colors, and shared elliptical elements of the illustrations. This kind of input from the client is always a big help and it was nice to employ some design skills to further the cohesive look of the finished piece. Thanks to Bill Hartman at Discovery Communications for the great project!
