Here are three recent technical illustrations completed for Discovery Channel that were used on a DVD package for their “How Stuff Works” series. “Aluminum”, “Rubber” and “Lead” images were a lot of fun to create as they allowed me to use my new favorite tool, modo, for the 3D work. Having a rough layout of the package design beforehand enabled me to coordinate the angles, colors, and shared elliptical elements of the illustrations. This kind of input from the client is always a big help and it was nice to employ some design skills to further the cohesive look of the finished piece.
